Italian Gastronomy in Bilbao
This gourmet space started in Bilbao 7 years ago in the Municipal de Labayru Market. Four years later they decided to broaden the store with a new workroom, where they cook all their italian takeaway food (lasagnes, cannelloni, pasta, pizza, italian desserts…).
In June 2017 they changed to another store, this time a 135 square meter space in Alameda Urquijo 62 St.
The new Al Dente is designed and decorated by Natalia Zubizarreta. It is very beautiful and welcoming. Plus the delicious smell of oven food, which creates the perfect atmosphere.
Al Dente Bilbao is the biggest space dedicated to the gastronomic italian product in the Basque Country.
In the store you can differentiate from:
The engine of the store. Inside this space, they cook the delicious lasagnes, cannelloni, daily dishes, pizzas, desserts (tiramisu, pannacotta, cannolis, crostata, capri cakes…), both to sell in store and order to takeaway.
The Kitchen School:
They organize Italian Kitchen courses and, in no time, they will start with tastings. Do you want to go to their next event?
Al Dente also runs courses for farewells, birthdays, etc.
In the store you will find more than 800 references brought from Italy.
Cold meat, cheese, sauces, pastas, wines, grissinis, coffee, antipastism biscottis…
In Al Dente they prepare gift baskets
They also have gift cards for the courses and showcooking meetings
Caterings are prepared for events
And they also sell homemade food using the platform Deliveroo
The secret: to keep innovating
José Antonio Cayón is the creator of Al Dente Bilbao. His secret: Authenticity, specialization, freshness, a lot of work… and to continue innovating!!
He will personally attend you, give you advice, different recipes and will turn into your “kitchen teacher” of Italian food. You can also follow his latest news in his Blog.
José studied journalism but, since he was very young, he moved and participated in the stoves of his grandparents restaurant and his dads discs.
After working in the music industry, he decided to change and start his own project: Al Dente Bilbao, to fill in a market that didn’t exist in Bilbao.
His dream was to sell authentic first class Italian products. A clear example is the burrata, which is brought every week from Italy and is gaining more and more popularity.
He also wished to give an additional value to the store: give Italian cooking clases and stablish a special relation with the client. To offer all kinds of tips, advice and curiosities.
