In the same place where our restaurant is located, there were some groceries with the same name, which had a variety of selective products: chocolats, spices, wines… products that were very difficult to find years ago in the Basque gastronomy. A very special and unique store that turned into a big reference in what gourmet was referred to in the Basque Country.

This endearing store turned into one of the best restaurants in Bilbao in the past century, a restaurant that nowadays still preserves all the spirit of that groceries, so different from everything that existed in those years. Here you will find the most high quality products, and of course the best intention in offering basque people and everyone who wants to visit this place the best food. Products that you can eat in their beautiful dinning room, surrounded by their collection of wines, whiskeys and coñacs and by their varied selection of pintxos, an icon in the antique part of the city (Casco Viejo).

Our restaurant has positioned itself like one of the best restaurants in the Basque Country, known by everyone who lives here and becoming a mandatory visit for those who visit our city. In Octoner 1997, the Restaurant Victor Montes had the pleasure of meeting and serving the company Guggenheim of Bilbao, with Gehry, Thomas Krens and Vidarte at the table. Without doubt, something that changed the course of the history of the city of Bilbao.
