Pasta y Pizza Grossi
Pasta e Pizza Grossi
More than 25 years ago, Fausto and Victoria decided to leave Italy and move to Bilbao to set up a small Italian corner in this city, which captivated them with its artistic atmosphere, vitality, vision for the future, and the good taste of the Basque people. It was the fall of 1992 when they arrived in the capital of Biscay, carrying their home with them and loaded with pasta machines.
From the very beginning, Fausto and Victoria, full of enthusiasm, worked on the project of creating a space where art and Italian food culture would go hand in hand. This is how Spazio Grossi and later Pasta Fresca Italiana Grossi were born, which is now known as Pasta e Pizza Grossi.
Today, the family business is run by their daughters Luz, Paz, and Zoé.
The establishment at Manuel Allende Street No. 12 has become a benchmark for pasta, pizza, and Italian products, as well as a meeting place centered around art and human relationships.
In the establishment, you can find all kinds of Italian specialties, in addition to the pasta and pizza they make themselves, all handcrafted.
The menu ranges from sauces, antipasti, cheeses, cold cuts, and rice dishes to wines, liqueurs, sodas, Italian sweets, and some ready-made dishes like lasagna, pasta, or their irresistible tiramisu.
What makes them so special and exclusive is that they make fresh pasta daily. Without preservatives or colorants, using top-quality ingredients.
This way, the pasta not only preserves all its nutritional value and dietary properties, but it also retains its full flavor, requires less cooking time, and absorbs the sauce better.
You can find everything from long semolina and egg pasta to a wide variety of short pastas made with spinach, mushrooms, beets, salmon, garlic and chili, bitter cocoa, curry, ginger, organic whole wheat, squid ink, basil, and more. Just like in many Italian establishments, the pasta is sold by weight.
Their pizzas also hold a privileged place.
They are made by the slice and round by special order. The menu features over 10 varieties, including the San Mamés pizza and the Della Casa pizza, which are undoubtedly the favorites of customers.
Additionally, each month they introduce a new pizza.
What’s the secret to their success? They care for all five senses. The textures, ensuring the dough is more digestible; the colors, always using fresh ingredients that harmonize perfectly with each other; the aromas, freshly out of the oven and straight to the heart; the sounds, crispy and always at just the right point; and of course, the flavors, to make their pizzas “the pleasure of the palate.”
But that’s not all… In addition, this gastronomic space is combined with Spazio Grossi, a venue dedicated to art. Every month, you can enjoy an exhibition.
On their Facebook, Instagram, and website, they offer ideas on how to prepare pasta, pizza recipes, information on Italian specialties, and much more.
And if you have any questions, you can always ask them, and they will be happy to offer advice and ideas.
