Maritime Museum Ría de Bilbao

The Museo Marítimo Ría de Bilbao (in Basque, Bilboko Itsasadarra Itsas Museoa) is a museum which is located in Bilbao, in Vizcaya, Spain. It is based in Indautxu, a place where long ago you could find the Astilleros Euskalduna. Next to this museum you can find the Euskalduna bridge and the Euskalduna Palace.

Its exhibitions spread the maritime heritage connected to the Sea of Bilbao and its surroundings. It was opened the 20^th of November of 2003. On its 5^th anniversary, it was visited by 323.000 people, welcomed 28 boats and hold 21 temporary exhibitions.

The museum has a surface of 27.000 square meters, distributed between the interior and the exterior terrace, where you can find the dock of the antique shipyard. You can also find a restored crane named “La Carola”.
