    The mecca for Cantabrian Anchovies lovers in town

    Antxoa Taberna is located in Bilbao´s most emblematic square, Plaza Nueva, (Old town). Where can savour all servings of Cantabrian anchovies récipes and suggestions, with cheese, or the Gilda Pintxo, to the grilled toast, and marinated…, carefully selected of a meticulous and handmade process in a maritime atmosphere.

    The traditional “octavillos“ are back

    The octavillo is an old tradition of serving anchovies in open cans in the bars in the Cantabrian town of Santoña, where the ‘octavillo’, consists of eight pieces served with wine.

    Cantabrian Anchovies are the most appreciated and renowned anchovies worldwide for their meaty, appetizing and intense seawater flavour caught only in the Bay of Biscay.

    Worth seeking out to experience ANTXOA with prepared vermouth ( marianito cocktail ), extensive list of white wines, cava and Champagne.
